Denialist cling to talking points

To the Editor:
I found Bill Busby’s letter (“Reader response to Gray’s climate article”) somewhat baffling.  I freely concede that climate change deniers in the U.S.A. are still a sizeable minority.  But this viewpoint is not shared by modern science.  Busby can quote Shakespeare’s “King Henry VI,” which pre-dated the fossil fuel economy, in support of climate denial. But I prefer to quote a much earlier writer, Euripides, from “the Bacchae” – “talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.”   Climate change will continue to grow – and denialists will look increasingly foolish as they cling to disproved talking points.
