Max March Madness is over

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound.  Well, March madness is finally over, thankfully, since my team [Buckeyes] never got out of the starter’s box this year.  I do have to admit there were some good games and again I cry out to the college football masters that they do the same….maybe December madness?  Naw… January Madness sounds much better.  Now, that would be exciting.  The only exciting thing coming up next is Tax Day.  Yea...real bummer.  I gave up many years ago trying to do my own taxes.  They say they are written at a sixth grader level, well, I would really like to meet that kid!  As of this writing the plane is still missing.  Hard to believe that with all the electronic eyes and ears around us, and over us, that something that big can just go AWOL.  I have to say the same thing for spring.  Where is it!?  I saw a picture that had a small bird all bundled up, shivering in snow and muttering, “Spring back?  How far back did they move it?”  I thought... “Funny but so true!”

“Love is a springtime plant that perfumes everything with its hope, even the ruins to which it clings.”
    – Gustave Flaubert

A professor stood before his class of 20 senior organic biology students, about to hand out the final exam. “I want to say that it’s been a pleasure teaching you this semester. I know you’ve all worked extremely hard, and many of you are off to medical school after the summer. So that none of you gets your GPA messed up because you might have been celebrating a bit too much this week, anyone who would like to opt out of the final exam today will receive a ‘B’ for the course.” There was much rejoicing among the class as students got up, passed by the professor to thank him, and signed out on his offer. As the last taker left the room, the professor looked out over the handful of remaining students and asked, “Anyone else? This is your last chance.” One more student rose up and took the offer. The professor closed the door and took attendance of those students remaining. “I’m glad to see you believe in yourselves,” he said. “Each of you gets an ‘A.’”

Well, spring will get here.  There is never any loss of hope that after all of the ice, snow and bad weather we will see a new beginning.  A time when we can be refreshed and renewed as the earth comes alive once again.  That is what Easter brings…hope and life.

We, here at the Dogpound, wish each and everyone in our pack a very happy Easter.

JR and Max
