The Next Level: Jemmot, Walton, Cotman

Thomas Dale High School
Senior at George Mason University
Jemmot had an excellent career at Thomas Dale, sprinting and jumping for the Knights and winning 2010 athlete of the year honors. At George Mason, she’s had a great career and the senior is looking to go out with a bang in 13-14. Last year, Jemmot was a part of the CAA Champion 4 x 100m relay team is a two-time ECAC Qualifier in the outdoor 100m dash. In that event, she placed fifth in the CAA Championships with a personal record of 12.02 seconds. The senior also recorded personal bests in the triple jump (11.36m) and the long jump (5.39m) last April.

L.C. Bird High School
Sophomore at  St. Augustine College
One of the better guards in L.C. Bird history is continuing to make her mark at the next level, earning a starting job this season for the Falcons of St. Augustine. This season, the sophomore is averaging nearly 10 points per game (9.8) and about 4 assists per contest (3.6) while playing point guard. The guard turned in a monster effort against Elizabeth City state scoring 15 points while grabbing 11 rebounds on January 4. One game prior, Walton dished out eight assists against Wilmington (DE).

Meadowbrook High School
Sophomore at St. Francis (PA)
After a successful high school career at Meadowbrook, Cotman turned in a banner freshman season at the next level for the Red Flash. In 2013 Indoor Track, she won the Northeastern Conference Champion in the 400m with a time of 56.72. Then in outdoor, she took the title home again in the 400m with a time of 54.96. In outdoor, she also placed 2nd in the Northeast Conference in the 200m dash with a time of 24.92. Cotman looks to continue her torrid running as a sophomore. At the Penn State indoor relays on January 11, Cotman finished fifth in the 500m dash and seventh in the 200m dash.
