The Mayor of Lake Macquarie, Australia has informed Chestesterfield representative, Gretchen Simard, that Chesterfield will be one of the 80 cities from around the world invited to the 2014 International Children’s Games.  Since this is a city to city program, Chesterfield youth will have the opportunity to participate in an International Olympic Committee sanctioned event without having to compete with youth from the entire United States for a spot on the team.  Athletes and coaches will be selected in the sports of swimming, track and field, golf and soccer.  An information meeting will be held for parent, athletes, and coaches on Friday, Nov. 15, from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the CCPS Fulgum Center.  Visit for more information or email:
