The Next Level: Gore, Rotsted, Spruill

L.C. Bird High School
Junior at Bridgewater College
During his time at Bird, Gore was a Second Team All-Dominion District performer and a member of the All-Academic team. As a freshman at Bridgewater, Gore played mostly special teams and tallied 11 tackles. Last season as a sophomore Gore broke out, receiving All-ODAC First Team honors leading the secondary with 50 tackles while defensing three passes and nabbing his first career interception. This season, Gore has sixteen tackles, an interception and scored his first career sack on September 14 at Greensboro College as the Eagles cruised to a 38-13 victory. Gore is majoring in business administration.

Matoaca High School
Senior at Mary Washington College
Rotsted was a standout at Matoaca as she earned team MVP, All-Central District and Second Team All-Central Region honors her senior year. The now Mary Washington defender, was also a team captain her senior year and a member of the first team in Matoaca school history to go to regions. At Mary Washington as a freshman, she played in all 22 games, scoring two goals and grabbing two assists. As of press time, the Eagles are 11-0 and are currently ranked No. 8 in the nation in Division III.

Thomas Dale High School
Redshirt Freshman at North Carolina Central University
The former Knight has come on in 2013 and made an impact on the field after a redshirt season in 2012, earning a starting position on the defensive line. Spruill has totalled 19 tackles in the team’s first five games, including three-and-a-half tackles for losses. At Thomas Dale, Spruill was a part of the 2009 state championship squad and earned First-Team Central All-District and Second Team All-Central Region honors. Spruill was also a standout in the classroom, winning multiple academic awards at Thomas Dale.
