A storm cloud rumbled in the distance as the Chester Rotary Club’s annual HOG (Happening on the Green) event opened last Wednesday afternoon on the Chester Village Green in Chester. As barbeque dinners were served, libations consumed and conversations initiated, the storm hit with a vengeance, blowing down tents and scattering the 100 or so folks who had arrived before the storm just before 5:30 p.m. The storm hit quickly, upending the food and information tents. Screams could be heard as one of the large dining tents came down in a gust of wind. But, within about 15 minutes, it ended quietly. The Rotary members picked up the pieces, reset the tents and began the party anew. Those with tickets continued to arrive, as DJ Scott Fisher turned up the music and the HOG finished as it began, on a happy note.
