Learning responsibility while having fun

Holly Faith Willis, a rising 3rd grade student at Elizabeth Scott Elementary School in Chester, attended a week-long Summer Day Camp in August along with 20 other children from the Richmond and Williamsburg areas at The Heritage Humane Society located in Williamsburg, Va., where they learned hands-on care for animals of all sizes. The campers enjoyed snacks, crafts, as well as listened to guest speakers. Holly and the other children also learned how to be a responsible citizen and pet owner. On their final day, the volunteer staff and campers were treated to a pizza party.
