Taylor Wray, a gymnast at Southside Gymnastics, placed first all-around in the Virginia Level 8 State Meet on March 21 in Fredericksburg, according to information from Tegan Wray.

The win qualified her for the Region 7 Mid-Atlantic Competition, where she placed fourth all-around. That competition was held on April 25 in Churchville, Md. Region 7 is a diverse organization with 7,000 athlete members throughout Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, according to information from Wray.

Taylor, a freshman at Thomas Dale High School, helped Team Virginia take second in the competition. She has been a competitive gymnast for nine years. Taylor plans to continue competing throughout high school and eventually in college.
