Police arrest Chesterfield high school teacher

Chesterfield County Police have arrested and charged a Chesterfield County Public Schools teacher with three counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor while in a custodial role and four counts of carnal knowledge of a child between 13 and 15 years of age.

Nicholas M. Ells, 29, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 15. Police said Ells, a teacher at Matoaca High School, was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile female student. After being alerted to the relationship, school personnel contacted Child Protective Services, who then notified police.

Ells, of the 19700 block of Walker Avenue, is now being held at the Chesterfield County Jail. He was set to appear in Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court on Friday, last week.
