Students raise $461 in the fight against kids’ cancer

The summer campers from the Chester Goddard School at Rivers Bend braved the heat to tempt Chester Kroger patrons with a cold glass of lemonade on July 19, while back at the school, the younger students sold lemonade and baked goods made by the students.

“This is the third year we’ve participated.  I can’t tell you how much the children look forward to it,” said Paula Graham, co-owner of the Goddard School. In total, the students raised $461 to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, part of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“The experience built their confidence, but more importantly, it enabled these kids to help other kids with cancer,” said Graham.  Graham and her husband, Stephen, have owned and operated the Chester Goddard School at Rivers Bend for six years.
