Area residents honored at Va. Tech commencement

The following Virginia Tech students were among those honored at the university’s spring graduate commencement ceremony held May 17, 2013, in Cassell Coliseum.

Approximately 5,000 bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. candidates along with their families and friends attended the on-campus ceremony presided by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger. The graduates from Chester included:

Melissa Taylor who received an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Daniel Phoenix who received a Master of Information Technology degree in Information Technology at Virginia Tech.
