The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) research library and head office have relocated to historic Trinity Church at 10111 Iron Bridge Rd., on the corner of Krause Road and Iron Bridge Road in Chesterfield, Va.
Previously located in historic Castlewood, an early 19th century structure currently undergoing restoration and renovation, the CHSV research library and head office in historic Trinity Church opened its doors to the public on July 1. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 10a.m. - 4p.m.
The CHSV library provides more than 25,000 reference materials on Chesterfield County history including books, manuscripts, maps, census information, cemetery files, periodicals, vertical files, family histories, a comprehensive veterans’ database and an extensive photo collection. Admission is free; there is a fee for photocopies.
Established in 1981, the Chesterfield Historical Society of VA is a private, non-profit organization that serves as the center for Chesterfield county history. Its mission is to collect, preserve, interpret and promote the county’s unique past for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations.
