Horse killed on Winterpock Road June 30

Chesterfield County police and Animal Control officers are investigating an incident in which a horse was killed in the 11900 block of Winterpock Road.

At about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, police were called to the 11900 block of Winterpock Road for a report of a horse that had been shot and killed. The horse was last seen alive at about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 29.

Investigators said the shooting does not appear to be accidental.
