The Ettrick-Matoaca Library branch held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday to mark its recent renovation and official grand re-opening. The library, which has been a part of the Ettrick-Matoaca community since it opened in 1976, recently closed its doors and relocated to a trailer on site while the building was extensively redone. New additions to the library include a reading garden, a small-business center, a large meeting room and an expanded library collection.
Mike Mabe, director of Chesterfield County Public Library, served as the Master of Ceremonies of the event. Platform guests included County Administrator Jay Stegmaier, Matoaca Supervisor Steve Elswick, Dr. Loretta Braxton, president, Friends of Ettrick Library, and Col. Cortez Dial (Ret.), Chief of Staff, Virginia State University.The Ettrick-Matoaca Library is located at 4501 River Road, South Chesterfield.
