Virginia Tech held its 2012 Fall Commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 21, in Cassell Coliseum on the Virginia Tech campus, recognizing the academic accomplishments of approximately 1,430 undergraduate students. Of those students, 292 graduating seniors completed their baccalaureate degree programs with honors, having achieved an accumulative grade point average of at least a 3.4 on a 4.0 scale. Among those graduating magna cum laude was Lisa Cole, of Chester, who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Lisa will continue her education at Duke University in Durham, N.C., this fall where she has been accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Lisa is a 2009 graduate of L. C. Bird High School.
