To the Editor:
The Chesterfield Board of Supervisors need to adopt a guide line or develop some meaningful criteria for which they select the chairman of the board. For years it had been that the vice chairman would become chairman.
However, the year that Supervisor Jim Holland of Dale district was to move into the chairmanship position, the rules changed. This was done with the help of Supervisors Warren and Jaeckle. Gecker became chairman and Jaeckle became vice chairman.
Now this year the board has reverted back to the old way of selecting the chairman. Vice chairman Dorothy Jaeckle has become chairman. Is this what you call playing the race card? I’m, sure when Supervisor Jaeckle looks in the mirror she doesn’t see a halo.
