Police were called to a home in the 13500 block of Brandy Oaks Road at 9:23 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 for a domestic altercation between a husband and wife. Once on scene, officers discovered the wife, who had been stabbed. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The wife, who lived at the residence, has been identified as Mia Nichell Williams, 42. The husband, who also resides there, fled the scene in his car before officers arrived.
A description of the husband and his car was immediately broadcast to officers. Approximately 10 minutes later, the husband’s vehicle was spotted by an alert officer in the area of the Chesterfield County Government complex. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the driver fled onto Route 288 south, eventually exiting onto Interstate 95 north with officers in pursuit.
A short time later, the fleeing car crashed near the Willis Road exit. Immediately following the crash, a man jumped out of the car and attempted to run across several lanes of Interstate 95. In his attempt to escape, the man was struck by a passenger car traveling south on Interstate 95. The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to VCU Medical Center, where he is currently in serious, but stable condition.
The man was later identified as Tony Williams, 44, the husband of the deceased victim. Charges in this case are pending Williams’ release from VCU Medical Center.
