Chesterfield County real estate values show mixed results

The total assessed value of all real estate in Chesterfield County declined 2.9 percent during calendar year 2011, according to the county’s Department of Real Estate Assessments. While the local economy has seen a notable uptick in hiring activity and brisker consumer spending, there has been only scant improvement in area housing markets. The total value of existing residential property in the county fell 5.3 percent in 2011.

Odd-shaped to fit the plot of land where it was built, it’s sort of our southern version of Fenway Park.

Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob the BB&T bank branch at 5756 Hopkins Rd. at about 12:45 p.m. on Monday. No one was injured during the incident.

Police arrest 59 in undercover prostitution operation

Warrior Geeks garner award at robotics competion

The Matoaca High School Robotics Team, The Warrior Geeks, competed in the First Tech Challenge on Saturday January 14, 2012 at Norfolk State University along with twenty-two other teams. Attending the event were two other teams from Chesterfield and teams from Henrico, Hopewell, and Richmond.
