L.C. Bird High served as the host of the UPA State Championships this weekend, giving a number of Bird alumni a chance to return for a reunion of sorts. There are currently 29 Bird graduates playing on their colleges’ Ultimate Frisbee teams; many of those alumni present to support the next generation of players competing for a state title.
Thomas Dale continued its winning ways by sweeping both the boys’ and girls’ district track titles in last week’s meet at Prince George. Quintin Fulghum was named the meet’s top performer in sweeping the long and triple jumps, as well as the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes.
The recreational cheerleading program at the Hopkins “Bobcat” Athletic Association, Inc. (HBAA) capped a successful season by receiving numerous awards at “The US Finals – The Final Destination” national cheerleading competition in Virginia Beach on May 1-2, according to a press release from HBAA.
The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs the community’s help to solve a case in which a victim’s stolen credit card was used to make fraudulent purchases at two area stores after her purse was stolen from Cracker Barrel at 12401 Redwater Creek Road on Feb. 9.
BROADWATER WY 5/20 Broadwater Townhouses. The victim’s residence was entered by unknown means. The interior of the residence was disturbed and a point of exit was obvious at the rear of the residence. At the time of the report, it was unknown whether anything had been stolen.
