DALEBROOK DR 8/25 The overhead door of the vacant business had a panel knocked out and a bucket was set beneath the opening. Apparent entry was made through this opening. The interior of the building was rummaged through and miscellaneous property was stolen.

My First Day: Students, teachers return to the classroom

As parents walked excited or nervous children to bus stops last Tuesday morning, teachers prepared their classrooms, arranging desks and supplies in anticipation of their newest class’ arrival.

Mandatory water restrictions effective Sept. 15

Historically low water levels in Lake Chesdin prompted Chesterfield County to issue mandatory water restrictions for all water customers last week. The restrictions will go into effect Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Fort Lee soldier transport trains will add rail traffic through Chester

Once a new travel initiative is implemented, a military convoy that now travels Interstate 95 from Fort Lee to Fort A.P. Hill will be replaced by an Army-owned six- to 10-car passenger train, according to information released by Fort Lee officials.

WWII POWs held here featured in exhibit

In the Chester area, near the end of World War II, men with “PW” emblazoned uniforms could be seen working the fields, raising barns and harvesting crops in what was then a mostly rural community.
