Chester native earns Eagle Scout rank

Ronald Brown, Jr., son of Cynthia and Ronald Brown, Sr., obtained the rank of Eagle Scout on June 23. Ronald, 18, is a 2010 graduate of Thomas Dale High School. He is a member of Troop 2877, which is sponsored by Chester Presbyterian Church.

All Chesterfield schools fully accredited for third straight year

All Chesterfield County schools are fully accredited for the 2010-11 school year, making Chesterfield the largest division in Virginia to have all schools fully accredited three years in a row, according to preliminary data from the Virginia Department of Education.

A passion for writing – and for vampires

Early last year, Chelsea Raine put her passion for writing and “thing” for vampires to work, starting the first in what will be a series of four vampire romance novels. “On Jan. 27 last year, I started writing,” she said. Since then, she’s completed two novels and is working on a third novel and a script for a film adaptation of her first book, she said.
