Central High School held 55th class reunion in Chester

The 1956 graduating class of Central High School, formerly in Low Moor, Va., held their 55th class reunion in Chester on June 10-11, 2011, at the Chester Village apartments.

On July 10, 1902, a second Constitution was adopted by the Commonwealth. A Constitutional Convention had been convened over a year earlier, and taking a year to deliberate, established laws such as a poll tax and woman suffrage.

TDHS grad to study in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Wyatt Gordon, a Thomas Dale alumnus and Chester resident, will be using his $20,000 Boren Scholarship to study Sustainable Development at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from August 2011-June 2012.

Tierney earns MBA from Northwestern

Meredith Marie Tierney, daughter of Kathy and Bob Tierney, graduated with an MBA from Northwestern University’s, Kellogg School of Management June 17, 2011.

Police Blotter

ALLERTON ST  5/23  Falling Creek Hills.  Entry gained to vacant residence through an unlocked crawlspace door.  The listed property was stolen.

JULEP DR  6/23  Colonial Pine Estates.  Complainant heard a noise on the front porch and as she walked toward the door, she saw the door handle turn as if someone was attempting to open the door.  Entry was not gained and at this time nothing has been reported stolen.

Police investigate death of infant

Chesterfield County Police are investigating the death of a 6-month-old male. At about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, police, EMS and Chesterfield County Animal Control were called to a residence in the 4600 block of Overridge Drive for a report of an infant male who had been bitten by a dog.

Investigation into domestic-related shooting continues

Chesterfield County Police continue to investigate what appears to be an attempted murder and suicide that occurred in the 11200 block of Heathstead Road on June 26.
