The student body of Enon Elementary was one of 25 schools winning the “Get Active Get Fit!” School Challenge sponsored by 1290 AM Radio Disney and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. As part of the celebration, Radio Disney hosted a special dance party for the student body on Feb. 22.
Call them the cardiac kids. Advancing to states after holding off two furious comebacks by in-region foes John Marshall and Highland Springs, L.C. Bird was able to win in a different way—by coming back from a 15 point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to advance to the state semi-finals for the third time in school history, defeating the Osbourn Eagles 73-72 in the VHSL state tournament Friday night.
Ka’lia Johnson’s high school career came to end last Saturday as the Lady Knights fell by the slim margin of five points, 70-65. The defeat came at the hands of Forest Hill High School (Woodbridge, VA) in the quarterfinals of the VHSL girl’s state tournament.
Bradley Johnston, a graduate of Thomas Dale in 2009 was voted Lindenwood University player of the week and NAIA National player of the week for volleyball (NCAA Division I-II). He is also on the fall semester dean’s list at Lindenwood. Bradley was 2009 state player of the year and state champion with Thomas Dale in 2008.
Adam White, a Thomas Dale High School senior, is a 6’1”, 240 lb. center who earned Second Team All-District honors as the Man in the Middle after helping the Knights capture the AAA Division Six State Championship in 2009.
