With a gray sky overhead, the Thomas Dale High School Marching Band brought fireworks to the students of Marguerite Christian Elementary the morning of Thursday, Sept. 22, converting the school’s bus loop into a musical arena for the massive crowd of children.

On Saturday, July 30, 2011, at about 5:46 p.m., a report of a suspicious package in the wood line in the 2100 block of Point of Rocks Road was called in to police.
Birdbrook Dr. 9/29 Forest View. Unknown suspect/s used a cinder block to shatter the exterior glass on the double-paned rear door. Suspect/s then attempted to kick in a rear door to gain entry to the residence. Entry was not gained and at this time nothing was reported stolen.

Last Thursday afternoon, two kayaks, paddled by two middle-aged men, pulled up to the Dutch Gap boat landing right off the James River in Chester. Sun burnt and damp, they had just concluded a four-day, 90-mile aquatic adventure which began in Suffolk, Va., early Monday morning; yet their energy confirmed they could have gone on for days.
