Dale boys sweep team, individual tennis titles
All-district golfer Austin Hamilton completed the transition from the fairway to the tennis court by winning the individual Central District title last week at Meadowbrook High School. He later paired with Andrew Thagard in posting a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Thomas Dale teammates Min Im and Robert Long.
Richards rises to top of national rankings
Wrestling at Matoaca High School reached a pinnacle this past winter with a top 10 finish in the AAA state championships. Blake Roulo became the school’s first state champion at the AAA level, while teammate Josh Clark took home a silver medal. With only one senior in the program, things are definitely looking up for coach Mike Moore’s Warriors.

Woman wanted for conspiracy, drug charges
Lindsay Wade Harris, 28, is wanted for conspiracy and drug distribution charges. Harris is a 5-foot-6-inch white female with brown eyes and brown hair. Matthew R. Gray, 26, is wanted for receiving stolen property. Gray is a 5-foot-7-inch black male with brown eyes and black hair.

W HUNDRED RD 5/12 Jones Trailer Park. The victim arrived home and found that a front living room window had been tampered with and property was stolen from a rear bedroom. The suspect/s unscrewed the glass screen to the window of the trailer and pushed the window open to gain access.

As soon as Thomas Dale High School JROTC senior Daniel Wayne was told he would be the 8-year-old program’s new battalion commander, his first thoughts were of his father, who is on active duty as a captain in the U.S. Army in Afganistan.

Commission to take up landfill request
Planning Commission Chairman William Brown said last week that he thought a request from Shoosmith Bros. Inc., which has asked the county to lift three conditions placed on its operations during the landfill’s 1997 expansion, was ready to go forward.
