WINFREE AVE 2/22 Gill Farms. Victim stated she found property belonging to an unknown suspect, who gained entry to her residence. No signs of forced entry were noted and at this time nothing has been reported stolen.

Grant named Executive Director of Henricus Historical Park

The Henricus Foundation with Chesterfield and Henrico Counties are pleased to announce that Charles Lewis Grant has been named Executive Director of Henricus Historical Park after a nationwide search. Grant served as acting executive director since July 2010 and throughout the site’s 400th commemoration.

BOS advertises property tax rate at 95 cents

The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors voted, last week, to advertise the property tax rate at 95 cents per $100 of home assessed value. The rate advertised, as stated by state statute, can only be lowered when the Board votes on the budget on March 28.

Shooting suspect apprehended at Enon Wawa

A shooting last week at the McGuire Woods Medical Center ended after a chase across Chesterfield County at the Wawa convenience store at Route 10 and Interstate 295. Cornelius Hayes of Blackstone, 55-year-old man has been identified as the man who allegedly shot and killed a hospital volunteer.

County offers free lawn and gardening seminars

The Chesterfield County Office of Cooperative Extension is offering county residents a series of free seminars to learn how to cope with common gardening challenges. Learn how to properly prune crepe myrtles, Saturday, March 3, 10 a.m., at the Chesterfield Technical Center, 10101 Courthouse Road, Chesterfield.
