Local Cub Scouts learn about conservation, Scout belt loops

On Saturday, April 28, the boys from Cub Scout Pack 2877 in Chester, along with their “Akelahs”, participated in a pack service project to count toward many of their belt loop and pin requirements, as well as their Pack Conservation Good Turn award.

Judge Hauler honored for longevity

The Hon. T. J. Hauler, Circuit Court Judge for Chesterfield and Colonial Heights, last week, was recognized by his peers for longevity on the bench at the Judicial Conference of Virginia in Norfolk. The Hon. Cynthia D. Kinser, Chief Justice of the Virginia Supreme Court, presented Judge Hauler with the “Length of Service Award”.

Senior Idol results

It took only the appearance of Lisa Schaffner, public relations director for UNOS and former anchor for WRIC-TV8, to get the 400-plus crowd fired up at Friday’s Second Annual Senior Idol competition, sponsored by the Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield. Schaffner had the crowd cheering and ready for the Idol competition to begin.

Crime Solvers uses media to solve crimes

Each week, the Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program highlights an unsolved crime from the police departments of Chesterfield County or the city of Colonial Heights. This allows the program approximately 52 weeks and 52 cases per year.
