As school gives way to summer and a sometime bored fleet of family members, let’s not forget our own backyard. Maybe you don’t have time for a week-long get away, but if you think about it, some folks come here for their week-long getaway.

Meadowbrook honors ‘Students of the Month’

Every student wants to think they are special - and they are - in their own way. Meadowbrook High School celebrated 80-plus students last Tuesday who had been singled out more than once as a “Student of the Month” during the Student of the Month Year-End Celebration.

This season, the girls finished at 24-3, but fell in the Regionals to Highland Springs, but continued the excellence that the area has gotten used to under head coach Chevette Waller.

Life Church, located at 16801 Harrowgate Rd., will host Mega Sports Camp. Mega Sports Camp is a camp where kids ages four-12 can do what they enjoy most: running, jumping and playing. Plus, it is a time for kids to strengthen physically and spiritually.
