Last year, they took things one step further, winning their first round playoff game against Varina 21-16 before falling to Hermitage 10-0 in the Central Region Final. Bird finished at 10-2 overall.

Ace in the hole

The CHSGA outing at the First Tee in Chesterfield on August 9, resulted not only in a lot of fun, but also the latest hole-in-one recorded by an Association member. Bill Crafton, who will turn 86 on September 8, guided a 5-iron shot into the hole on No.8 green. Crafton, a member since 1993, is the first so far this season to record an “ace”.
