Puttin’ around with old buds

Tuesdays are always special for the members of the Colonial Heights Senior Golf Association, but Tuesday, April 9th, was extra special. The members graciously welcomed Mr. Bernard Wilkerson, who will become a centenarian (100 years old) on April 11, as an honored guest.

Woman robbed at Westchester Commons, victim of fraud

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program wants to help police solve a credit card fraud case and identify a thief who has struck before.

75 Acres Burn off Courthouse Road

Courthouse Road and the Rt. 288 area looked a scene from a movie on April 10 when brush fires went wild in high winds and engulfed the area. Smoke billowed up into the sky and filled the area like a thick cloud but at ground level. Motorists were stranded for awhile on Rt. 288 while fire crews battled the blaze.

SECOND BRANCH RD 04/07 4:45 p.m. – Two unknown suspects were observed in the victim’s residence after forcing entry through the rear door. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Nothing was reported stolen.

Chester’s Own Bird Alum Is Youngest Woman to Head a Brewery

She has graced the pages of Glamour (Feb. 2013) and the LA Times and been interviewed by Carson Daly for of all things…beer! Chester native Meg Gill lived her childhood in the little town, starting out at Salem Elementary and graduating from Bird High School almost 10 years ago. With some years in between, she made her way to the craft brewing scene in California.

Temporary closure of Castlewood doesn’t affect CHSV activities

The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) headquarters and research library in historic Castlewood, located at 10201 Iron Bridge Rd. is closed for internal and external restoration. The Historical Society continues its operations for members, volunteers, and community.
