Christopher Newport University is pleased to announce the Dean’s List for the Fall 2011 semester. These honor students are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, have earned no final grade below C, and have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.
Eleven residents of Chester have been named to the fall semester Dean’s List at Radford University.
Karea Bailey’s love of art began when she was just three years old. As she grew up, she eagerly explored that interest, becoming a skilled artist who works in a number of mediums, including photography, painting and drawing. Her artistic talents also include design, presentation, art restoration and singing.
Several Matoaca High art students were recently recognized by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers their outstanding work and will receive Scholastic Art Awards.

Dance companies from universities throughout Virginia and North Carolina will convene on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m., in the Thomas Dale High School main auditorium, for “Gather: an Evening of Dance.”
