The Chesterfield Council on Aging has published its biennial Resource Directory of Services for Older Adults and Individuals with Disabilities in Chesterfield County. The directory is intended to help older adults and adults with disabilities to find the resources and services they need to remain independent.
The Jefferson Davis Association (JDA) celebrated 20 years of Preserving the Past, Building the Future during a 20th Anniversary luncheon last Tuesday, at the Meadowbrook Country Club, with approximately 70 JDA members and supporters attending.

“I’ve always tried to help out in schools,” said Teddy Pomerantz, who has been one of Elizabeth Scott’s most active WATCH D.O.G.S. “My big thing is mentoring. I spent 32 years in the military and 22 of those years in recruiting. I wish some of my recruits would have had mentoring like this program.”
ChesterFest returns on Saturday, Sept. 22 to celebrate its 11th year providing 11 years of fun, meeting neighbors you haven’t seen in years, shopping for some one-of-a-kind gifts or even something for yourself. It’s all presented by the Chester Community Association (CCA), which shares a birthday with ChesterFest.
Cathy Blaire-Perrine, a nurse from Chester who works at Chippenham Hospital, recently completed a volunteer medical mission with Project HOPE and the U.S. Navy in the West African countries of Liberia and Ghana.
