Like father, like son: Son starts new life in Chester with biological father

Like most fathers and sons, Greg Swader and his 15-year-old son, Jay, have a lot in common. They have the same favorite color (blue), enjoy the same Chinese dish (General Tso’s Chicken) and even tend to get the same hangnail on the same finger. "They’re like clones,” said Kathy, Swader’s wife.

‘Barrier-free’ playground opens

A “barrier-free” playground officially opened on Saturday, June 19, at the Bird Athletic Complex, located at 10401 Courthouse Road, according to information from the county. The community was invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony that morning.

Local student earns Eagle Scout rank

Adam Francis Robert White, a sophomore at L.C. Bird High School, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout during a Court of Honor held on June 21, according to information from Carlton Meeks.

Reminiscence: Courthouse tales

There’s a common thread that connects one locale to others.
