Mildred Ramsey Wilmoth to celebrate 100 years

Mildred Ramsey Wilmoth, of North Chesterfield, celebrates her 100th birthday on January 22, 2014. Mildred was born in Burgaw, North Carolina in 1914. Growing up, she enjoyed the country life with her nine brothers and sisters. They liked to go to country parties and play basketball. Mildred married Howard Wilmoth on September 5, 1953.

New exhibit on Chesterfield African-American schools

The African-American History Committee of the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) will mark Black History Month by recognizing the histories of segregated schools for African-Americans in Chesterfield County in a new rotating exhibit at the County Museum.

Crocheting for a good cause

When a person checks out at the grocery store most likely their groceries will be bagged in a plastic bag. Not just one, but several – sometimes one item in a bag. By the time check-out is complete, it is easy to end up with 20 bags of groceries.
