Patriots Tea Party at fairgrounds

Local Tea Party groups gathered at the Chesterfield County Fairground on Saturday at an event call Celebrate Liberty. Vendors for the event included the Chester Patriots group as well as number of groups from around the area including the Virginia Patriots, Lousia Tea Party, Patrick Henry Tea Party as well as about eight others.

Chester resident honored as ‘Volunteer of the Year’

Stephnie McDonald, an associate training specialist with Dominion, was one of 12 employees from six states recognized as one of their 2011 “Volunteers of the Year” for Dominion’s volunteer program. Dominion celebrated its volunteer program and some of the individuals that make them a success on Monday of this week.

First Survivors Celebration

It was a time for celebration — the Inaugural Survivors Celebration of the Virginia Cancer Patient Fund (VCPF).

Go green fashion show

The River’s Bend Goddard School held its first ever weeklong event called “Stepping Up for the Environment”. The preschoolers, school agers, and the new Private Kindergarten class participated in fun and creative activities to learn how their everyday activities and energy affect the future of our planet.
